Catherine Nicole (Moore) Simmons

Catherine Nicole Moore Simmons was born in Jewish Hospital and Medical Center on May 27, 1972. The youngest of 2 children born to Helen Ann and Robert Maurice Moore, her loving older brother Reginald Moore and both of her endearing parents all preceded her in death. 

Cathy was educated in the New York City Public School System and in 1990 she graduated from Sarah J. Hale High School where she made many memories and lifelong friends with whom she has been friends with ever since.

She gave her life to the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age at The Greater Free Gift Baptist Church under the tutelage of Dr. Daniel Webster Batts, Pastor.

Catherine had many jobs in her life but her most loved besides that of a great mother to Ronell. She loved working for the Human Resources Administration downtown Brooklyn. After some time, there she was retired early due to health complications. It was a wonderful experience because she met and married the man of her dreams, Robert Simmons. They were united in Holy Matrimony on July 16, 2005. 

Cathy loved people and she loved to have fun. Anywhere she was invited and not (lol) she was going to make everyone laugh and enjoy the time she was spending with them. She was becoming an avid traveler as well whether it was with her husband Rob or with her favorite girls. To know Cathy was to love her and she loved you right back. She was enjoying life and trying to make the best of every moment.

On June 28, 2018, Catherine Simmons kissed her husband Rob, told her family she loved them and said “See you later” to her sister/cousins who she spoke to every night and at the tender age of 46 in Norfolk, Virginia having the time of her life with her favorite girls, Mae Mae, Dione and Sherrie she passed away.

Catherine leaves to cherish her memories; her Husband: Robert Simmons; only Son: Ronell Howell (AnJavee McNeil); a Mother-in-Law: Rafaela Gloria Simmons; two Grandsons: Austyn Howell and Tyler Simmons; two Step-Daughters: Shawnte and Tiffany Simmons; a Half-Brother: Jayson Samuels; one Niece: Jada Pugh; three Nephews: Jayson & Julian Samuels, Jadyen Medley and one Aunt/Mother: Beulah Evans.  A Host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Friends.
