Yves Frantz Henry
May 2, 1957 - August 18, 2018
The Sun rose for Frantz, lovingly nicknamed *Fanfan* in Port-au-Prince Haiti. His parents, Maurice Henry and Christiane Paul-Jerome Henry were happy to welcome their 10th child on May 2, 1957. He was the 10th of 11 children.
Fanfan was very bright. He graduated from Tertulian Guilbaud and Richard Azor elementary school in Port-au-Prince at the top of his class. He migrated to New York with his mother and two of his siblings on April 29, 1972 where he lived for the rest of his life. Frantz graduated from John Jay High school, and from New York Technical College, then went on to study pharmacology. He loved to help his friends and family members with their schoolwork. One of these was his nephew Woodley, who he tutored in math.
Fanfan loved to play games. Marbles as a child, then dominoes, soccer and cards. He loved to read and draw, practiced the martial arts, and also had musical talents evidenced by his playing of the clarinet, trombone, flute and guitar.
Sunset for this well-loved brother and friend’s life occurred on August 18, 2018. He is survived by a brother Jacques Lionel Henry; sisters Yves Rose Henry-Bernadin and husband Raphael Willie; and Kettly Henry-Payne and husband Cesar. Nephews Woodley and wife Sharon; Fritz Jr.; Abraham and wife Rebecca; Andrew and Stanley. Nieces Cherline and husband Alex; Fayella and husband Jerry; Kisha and Mansfield Sr.; Claudette; Chantel and Raquel. Grand nephews and nieces, Mansfield Jr.; Jackson and Eve; Zaire, Zion and Imani; Clay and Quin, and on the way, Connor. Also surviving Fanfan are a host of cousins including Myrtho, Nicole, Jacques, Eddy and Maude.
