Larissa Reese Mattocks

Larissa F. Mattocks better known as “Reese” was born October 9, 1973 to the late Jo-Ann Cunningham Mattocks and Thomas L. Buie of Brooklyn New York. “Reese” attended Danny Kaye P.S. 149, Grace Christian Center, JHS Margaret Douglas I.S. 292 and Thomas Jefferson HS while living in Brooklyn.  In “1997” she learned she was a diabetic while keeping that under control she maintained many jobs. After relocating to Yonkers, New York she was diagnosed with cancer and underwent chemo therapy and successfully went into remission. While Reese managed her own health she also helped her father and stepmother (Deidra Buie) until their passing.

Even though Reese didn’t have any children of her own she helped raise her nieces, nephews, cousins and so many others. In 2017, Reese began to suffer from repertory issues which caused her to be hospitalized on several occasions. Reese was a fighter who never lost her spirit or faith in the Lord.

On February 19, 2018 the lord called her home.

Larissa leaves to cherish and celebrate her life: Her Oldest Sister: Tiffany Mattocks of Brooklyn NY, Little Sister: Leota Mattocks of Yonkers, NY. Only Brother: Thomas L Buie Jr. of Yonkers, NY. Four Nieces: Shakeema Mattocks who she nick-named Tinkerbell, Kendra Mattocks, Reyna Graham, August Graham. Three Nephews: Davon Mattocks, Tommy Pinnock, Antwon Hackett.  One Great Niece: Amara Mattocks who she nick-named Munchkin. One Great Nephew: Dejon Davis. One Niece In-law: Yasmin Mattocks, Two Brother In-laws: Anthony Graham, Robert Hackett. One Sister In-law: Ann-Marie Pinnock.
