Roberto Santana was born on February 15, 1938 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to loving parents Juan and Carmen Santana. Roberto grew up in a loving home with his two brothers and two sisters. It was at an early age that he left his home in Puerto Rico to make New York City his new home. In 1952 he married Margaret DeLeon and from that union they had 7 beautiful children. The 67 years that they were married they were inseparable. The enjoyed listening to salsa music together.
Roberto spent his career working in the Garment District of New York City. Some of his favorite things he enjoyed doing in his spear time was playing his timbales, playing in a band, he like broadcasting and watching baseball games. His favorite team was the New York Mets. His favorite time of the year was New Year’s Eve with his family.
Roberto leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 67 years: Margaret, his children; Robert (Tracy), Ida, Tony (Pat), Carmen (Noonie), Justina, Alberto (deceased), Jose (decease): 16 grandchildren: Ashley, Fugwuan, Avia, Nafassia, Tyshawn, Elena, Anthony, Shanee, Dante, Selena, Diamond, Derrick, Asia, Albert, Brianna, Dashawn: 19 great grands, brother, sister, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
