Clifton "Buddy" Wood

On June 25, 2018 at 2:05 pm, Clifton Joseph Wood, earned his wings. He received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which he will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends he has not seen in a long time. His new mission takes him to a wonderful place where he will be socializing, dancing, riding his bike and keeping an eye on his beloved “Sky”. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. He left detailed instructions for his siblings and children to celebrate his mission here, which has now been completed. Low adherence to this instruction will not be tolerated.

Clifton known as “Buddy” to all his friends and family was born on March 11, 1957 to the late Milton and Mary Wood in Flushing Queens.

Clifton was well known and genuinely loved by all his friends and family. He had what some would call a mean streak however to know him was to love him. He lived life according to his rules and enjoyed his days singing along to songs by the Stylistics and walking his beloved Sky.

            Clifton was raised in the East New York and Brownsville sections of Brooklyn, where you would regularly see him playing basketball or riding his bike. He attended public schools in Brooklyn, New York before receiving his High School Equivalency diploma in Job Corps. Clifton spent most of his career as a salesman for Lee’s Art Shop in Manhattan.

Clifton leaves to join his sister, brother and grandson, Ronald Wood, Beverly Wood and Braheen Cotton, respectively. Clifton leaves to mourn, three daughters, La-Tisha Price, Phyllis “Shantel” Williams and Keva Williams. One Sister, Brenda Wood-Howard and two brothers, Milton Wood and William Wood. Clifton leaves to mourn two grandsons, Rasheen Moore and Kareem Johnakin and one great grandson, Chase Moore, Along with a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.
