Edward Leon Dennis, beloved son of the late Leon “Buddy” Dennis and Christine Watson, was born on April 16, 1949 in Modest Town, Virginia. He departed this life Wednesday, September 9, 2020 in Brooklyn, New York.

Edward was educated in the public schools of Accomack County, Virginia. He relocated to New York shortly after high school. There he entered the workforce and held various jobs in different industries.

Edward was married to the late Dorothy Royal Dennis and they shared many years together before her passing. He was a member of Open Doors Family Life Center, Inc. in Brooklyn, New York. Edward enjoyed worshipping and serving his church in many capacities.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest Dennis and grandson, Ervin Holden.

Edward leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Edward (Katara) Bell of DE, Jeffery (Shaniqua) Dennis of NY, and Yvonne Haggins of VA; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; siblings, Emmanuel “Junior” Fletcher of VA and Levolia Rowley-Rafford of NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
