Nelly Imogene Logan Johnson was born on March 27,1935 to Emanuel and Mary Logan in Tela, Atlantida, Honduras. She was the 7th of 10 children. She received her education in Honduras and taught bilingual education.
She migrated to the united states in 1954 and settled in Brooklyn, New York. Nelly furthered her education and became an LPN She worked as a private duty nurse until her retirement in the early 1990's.
Nelly was married to Joseph Johnson on January 30, 1982 until September 9, 2020, when Joseph passed away. After retirement she enjoyed caring for many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and entertaining her family at her country home in upstate New York. Grandma Nelly also enjoyed sewing, pottery and cooking. The thing Nelly enjoyed the most was sharing life's lessons with her children and grandchildren. Nelly left New York for an extended stay with her family in Atlanta, Ga. before returning to Brooklyn, New York in 2020. Nelly departed this life on Monday, March 22, 2021.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers: Lester, Vernon Hubert, Larry, her sister Lydia, her husband, Joseph and her daughter Tanya. Nelly leaves to cherish her memories; her children and their spouses: Georgeanna (Randolph}, Anna (Ville), Steven, Michael (Lisa), Keith (Winifred); Her adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren; her sister Lucille, her brothers Richard, Emanuel Ruben Sr. and his wife (Juanita); a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
