Nelson Pena Rodriguez

Nelson Pena known as “Grandpa”, 80, died Thursday, May 3, 2018, 10:45 p.m., at Brookdale hospital with his family by his side.

Grandpa was born September 13, 1937, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, to Maria Rodriguez and Nelson Pena.

In 1963, grandpa shortly moved to New York. Grandpa began working in a fur company until 1970. Then began to work at St. Lukes hospital until 1996 where he then retired.

Nelson is survived by his significant partner Viola Viruet, Four children, Nelson Pena, Maria Pena, Marisol Pena, and Carlos Pena; Daughter in law Lizzette Pena and son in law Edgar Diaz; grandchildren Pablo (Baron) Pena, Angelica Diaz, Maria Diaz, Xavier Diaz, Nancy Diaz, Ivelise, Robert, Allah, Lisa, Linda & Estephanie; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Tytiana Diaz, Johnathon Lopez, Dexter Roldan, Carlos Pena, Eileen Pena, Nelson Pena, Chris Pena, and Samantha Pena; Great Grand children, Ashely Pena, Baron Pena, Ryan Pena, Jordyn Pena, Nelson Pena, Robert Velez, Matthew Velez, Gabriel Velez, Nathaniel Velez, Ethan Velez, Justice Garcia, Alyasia Garcia, Aliani Diaz, Joel Diaz, Johnathon Lopez, Jaylani Lopez, Naydeen Pena, Carlos Pena, Alize Wilson; Great Great Grandchild the one and only Leon Angel Silva; Grandchildren in laws Robyn, Ivelise, Robert, Allah, Lisa, Linda & Estephanie; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
