Shahara Carly Fenton September 12, 1984 - March 9, 2021
Shahara Carley Fenton, age 36, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 due to complications stemming from the COVID-19 virus. Shahara was born on September 12, 1984 to the late Sylvia June Fenton. She grew up in Queens, New York and graduated from Martin Luther High School in Maspeth, New York.
Shahara was known to be a personal cheerleader to her friends. Her enchanting smile with those dimpled cheeks was radiant, and she had a contagious laugh that brought joy to all who knew her.
Shahara was the proudest of mothers. Her children were her world. She often said that her kids were “her whole loaf cause a slice was never enough.” Shahara enjoyed cooking for her family, especially her famous baked ziti and she really loved baking Nestle Toll House chocolate chip cookies for dessert. When she had her “me time," Shahara enjoyed watching throwback television shows like the "Golden Girls" (a Grandma Jessie influence) and the "Golden Globe" and "Emmy Awards". She also was an avid sports fanatic and enjoyed watching her favorite basketball team, the Golden State Warriors, and her favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees.
Shahara is survived by her three precious children: Shane 15, Emmanuel 13, and Jolena 9, and partner of eleven years, Joseph Porter; brothers David, Tony, Eric and Mark and aunts and uncles: Vivian Richardson, Shirley and Welker Calhoun, David and Vivian Fenton and Reginald Fenton, nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and dear friends.
